Jim Lee
Division President

With over 30 years of experience in all aspects of the construction industry, Jim is responsible for the greater northern business unit. In addition, he provides executive leadership for Boldt’s power and industrial market sectors.

During his career Jim has provided leadership for nearly five billion dollars of revenue. Prior to his business unit leadership, he provided oversight to Boldt’s construction management services as well as their technical services group. Jim started his career in project management with several projects including complex paper mill projects in excess of $100 million in value.

Jim has an engineering degree from Valparaiso University and is a registered professional engineer. He is pursuing his Executive MBA from Northwestern Kellogg School of Business. His market sector experience is very diverse including power, industrial, healthcare, food, education and commercial types of projects.


Industrial Industry

Jim is also the executive sponsor for Boldt’s Industrial Market segments. Boldt’s industrial market sector focuses on pulp and paper, food, mining and general manufacturing industries. Jim has found that early involvement on projects, working closely with technology providers and engineers will reduce capital cost significantly. Planning in a team environment is essential to a projects success. Jim has developed a team of project staff and supervision that has been recognized for their ability to provide a high value to customers. This value is created by the integration of the various partners utilizing Boldt’s Lean processes.

Power Industry

Under Jim’s leadership, Boldt has grown its power industry reputation as a top national power contractor. The resume of power projects includes wind farms, natural gas power generation, biomass facilities, air quality control systems, hydroelectric plants and combined heat and power. Under Jim’s guidance, Boldt’s power group has developed project management and trade supervision that is highly competitive and schedule driven while putting safety as their number one priority. The approach to projects as Jim has emphasized involves creating alignment with all shareholders. This alignment combined with Boldt’s Lean culture has developed winning results and a growing number of repeat customers.
