Project Description

Baldwin Area Medical Center had the opportunity to build a new replacement hospital. Boldt was hired to build a 15 bed, 107,000 sq. ft., two-story greenfield hospital and clinic with the capability for an additional 10 beds.

Baldwin is seeking a LEED® certified replacement hospital and clinic, which will feature a geothermal field, chilled beams and STC rated exam spaces to maintain and address patient privacy per HIPPA requirements. The hospital is being built and zoned to be developed with a strong and specific emphasis on health and wellness Their master plan is to become a total wellness campus including assisted living, fitness center, walking trails, educational facilities and residential homes with a wellness theme. The new health and wellness campus will provide an improved layout and increased operating efficiencies for both staff and patients use.

Key Points

  • Boldt worked closely with the owner's team during the preconstruction phase to walk them thru the extensive USDA paper work requirements to help get the project funded.  Boldt’s thorough knowledge and working relationships with the USDA and finance team helped streamline the process and address one of the owner’s primary concerns on this project.
