In order to improve the integrity of their system and increase their pumping capacity. The new pumping stations along Line 61 through Wisconsin will help increase their pumping capacity. Boldt, provided construction on a new greenfield pumping station in Minong, Wisconsin. Work included civil, mechanical and electrical scope of work for the new 600 HP pipeline pumps at the station.
Working on an Enbridge site required Boldt employees and subcontractors to go through an extensive safety orientation. Every employee had to be enrolled in a DOT required drug and alcohol program and depending on the scope of work, many tradespeople were required to be operator qualified in demonstrating skills and training when working near active pipelines.
Scope of Work included:
Site preparation, concrete footings and foundations for new buildings and mainline pumps
A new pre-engineered metal building with access platforms and bridge crane, set electrical services building and precast VFD buildings
Electrical system with medium voltage cable, distribution panel, transformers, cable tray, lighting, heat trace and MCC bucket
Mechanical upgrades included installing mainline pumps and motors, small and large bore piping, sump tanks and pumps and building HVAC
