Project Description
The NWTC Business and Information Technology Center was seeking a design solution to expand their current lab and classroom spaces. The design was to provide distinct learning clusters for business, information technology and digital arts.
The project involved renovating 67,000 square feet of the existing facility (two-stories) and two separate, two story additions equaling approximately 27,500 square feet. Boldt Technical Services provided design services from Schematic Design through Construction Documentation and Construction Administration.
The digital arts program was located in the north addition and the information technology program in the south addition. This provided the distinct clusters that NWTC requested. Placing these programs into the additions allowed for the existing square footage to be remodeled as the business program cluster, general classrooms, active learning classrooms, student engagement spaces and administrative and faculty offices.
