Sutter Health ~ Medical Office Building and Energy Center

Sacramento, California

Project Description

To meet the growing health care needs in the Sacramento area, Sutter combined all acute care services into a single state-of-the-art medical campus. This project is part of a $735 million campus renovation and new facilities program.

The new four-story with two-level basement, 225,000 sq. ft., medical office building provides the highest level of care and includes:

  • Outpatient services

  • Surgical suites

  • Cardiac cath lab and rehabilitation

  • Laboratories

  • Ambulatory surgery

  • Imaging services

  • Medical office space for specialty physicians

  • Café for visitors and the public

The eight new MW generator sets, 4000 tons of chillers and high pressure steam boilers in the energy center power the entire hospital campus and are located in the medical office building’s two–level basement. The center interfaces to the existing campus via tunnels.

The medical office building and energy center met the state’s earthquake exacting seismic regulations and is an OSHPD-one project.
