Toyota ~ Container Yard and Gate 21

Georgetown, Kentucky

Project Description

Using undeveloped land originally designated for overflow parking and as a contractor trailer site, Toyota has developed a storage yard for shipping containers along with the addition of a new guardhouse at their Georgetown, Kentucky facility.

Boldt was awarded this project as general contractor, working with Toyota and SSOE to build this project under a compressed schedule. Construction began in October 2015 and was completed in December 2015.

The project consisted of underground utilities, storm water drainage, earthwork, paving and site lighting to provide space to park 680 plus shipping containers. A new guard house was built for security and monitoring of deliveries. Foundation for a new truck weigh scale was also constructed.

The guardhouse was designed and constructed using environmental and energy conserving feathers. Two existing high bay truck canopies were removed, transported and reinstalled as single canopy units at the new guard house location.
