The Boldt Company Wins Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce Innovation Award

APPLETON, WI, May 22, 2019–The Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce presented The Boldt Company with the 2019 Company Innovation Award in the Large Employer category during a luncheon on May 7 in Appleton, WI. Boldt was recognized for its non-traditional thinking, problem-solving culture and the development and implementation of a project delivery production system.

The production system allows teams to plan and manage construction projects using Lean principles.

By relying on rigorous standard process, visual controls and constant communication of the production plan, the system ensures a project meets or beats the targeted construction schedule and cost. It empowers staff to plan and control their work, while keeping an intense focus on reliable handoffs between teams, in addition to aggressively managing constraints. As a result, the system improves schedule reliability, reduces waste, increases efficiency and prevents rework typically built into most construction timelines.

“Our system is a direct result of our BoldThinking® culture–a mindset of collaborative, creative problem solving that encourages our employees to challenge assumptions and approach each project with imagination and out-of-the-box thinking,” said Bob Dekoch, president.

Each year, the Fox Cities Chamber recognizes businesses and organizations in the Fox Cities that help make it a vibrant, innovative and dynamic community.
