Boldt Role:Construction Manager
Key Points:Boldt was brought on board at the same time as the architect and planner. This team assembled budgetary cost estimates. Boldt provided valuable insight for the county in determining general facility layout and construction material usage. During the design phase, Boldt provided value engineering, constructability reviews and assisted the team with life-cycle cost analysis of mechanical, electrical and other building systems. All construction work was competitively bid and managed by Boldt to assure the county was provided with the best value for their dollar. The project team also analyzed an on-site option for laundry and central food preparation areas.
Jail and Law Enforcement Center
Early involvement as construction manager on this project allowed Boldt the opportunity to apply our experience and insight to help Winnebago County and its taxpayers get the most value for their money in a jail and law enforcement center.

The 204,000 sq. ft. facility includes a communications tower, evidence storage and processing area, main jail, sheriff's office and emergency 911 communications center. Employees have access to a pistol-testing range, locker rooms, and training and meeting areas. Because the facility has two rooms equipped with cameras and monitors, inmates can participate in initial court bond hearings without traveling to a courthouse.
