Every structure Boldt builds is an opportunity to incorporate innovation in energy efficiency. Our regional office in the Portage County Business Park is no exception. Situated on 6.5 acres, this LEED Silver Certified facility uses the latest HVAC technology available to achieve its Energy Star Rating.

Our 23,000 sq. ft. facility uses well water in a surface aquifer as a primary cooling source. After cooling more than 80 percent of the building, the water is used to irrigate the lawn, then goes to a retention pond to quickly return to the aquifer. A double-duct variable air volume system saves energy by keeping warm and cool air separate, and a warm ceiling plenum heats the air, allowing the boiler to be off for several months out of the year. Other energy-saving initiatives include air-to-air heat recovery and evaporative humidification.

All these sustainable features resulted in a facility that won several awards for energy efficiency and environmental excellence from state, federal and world organizations.
