Boldt was brought on early into the design to evaluate material selection and systems selection for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Precise construction scheduling and details allowed the new structure to be erected within 10 feet of the old building. The project was completed within budget and was recognized in a national church design/construction competition for "Church Design of the Year Award" by the architect.

Plainfield, WI

The challenge for Boldt was to demolish a 100-year-old church and replace it with a structure that fits today's needs, yet also coincides with the village's historical aesthetic. Recognized as one of the nation's top religious builders in the country by Engineering News-Record magazine, Boldt was able to provide the St. Paul's congregation with exactly what they hoped for, within budget and on schedule.

As construction manager, Boldt worked with architectural firm Short Elliott Hendrickson to deliver an innovative combination of masonry, wood framing and exterior insulation finish system. Through value-engineered ideas, we were able to successfully capture the enduring look of an all-stone structure, at a fraction of the cost.

The resulting 14,000 sq. ft. church features a 40-ft. cathedral ceiling, narthex, offices, kitchen and six classrooms, all incorporated within a contemporary design. Upon completion, the parish's new church received the prestigious Church Design of the Year Award in a national church design/construction competition.
