St. Paul Parish

Building Expansion

Genesee Depot, WI

As St. Paul Parish, a Catholic church and school in southeast Wisconsin, outgrew its sanctuary, it was important to the owners that its new building blended aesthetically with an existing school and gymnasium, while respecting the overall budget.

As construction manager, Boldt's early involvement allowed the owner and design team of Eppstein Uhen Architects to evaluate building system components to maximize value while retaining the look the church wanted.

We chose exterior components that provide a high-performance building while matching the look of the existing structures, salvaged stained-glass and masonry components from the old church, and restored and reinstalled them in the new facility.

The new St. Paul Parish includes a 1,000-seat sanctuary, gathering and conference areas, liturgical support spaces and shell for future administrative offices. Through carefully chosen alternate materials and systems, the church saved 8 to 10 percent of the estimated cost.
