Expansion and Renovation

Boldt was engaged by St. Joseph's Hospital, a member of the HealthEast Care System, to provide Owner's Representative/Program Management services for the expansion and renovation of their downtown St. Paul Campus. The project based upon a Master Facility Plan previously prepared by Boldt, created a campus to lead the oraganization into the 21st Century.
The four-phase plan included: (1) a new 300-vehicle parking ramp; (2) a new 185,000 sq. ft. five story tower with 89 private patient rooms, centralized Heart Care (including four new OR's and four new Cath Rooms), Neuroscience Center, and Outpatient Surgery and Imaging Centers; (3) remodeling (backfiling) of 69,500 sq. ft. of space within the existing hospital; and (4) the demolition of a multi-story structure of approximatley 80,000 sq. ft. to allow for a new state-of-the-art ED with 20 universal treatment rooms. All phases were completed without disrupting day-to-day hospital operations.
