St. Elizabeth Hospital
South Addition
Appleton, WI
Because St. Elizabeth Hospital has been serving its community for more than a century, it has a rich tradition of healing yet needed renovation to incorporate the latest in efficiency and sustainable features.
In our role as master planner, Boldt developed a master plan to meet the facility's needs over a five- to eight-year period. We also served as construction manager for the Phase I South Addition. This two-story, 150,000 sq. ft. facility provides a new entrance, customer and staff service spaces, and increased space for nuclear medicine, radiology and cardiology departments.
St. Elizabeth is the first Wisconsin hospital to incorporate environmentally friendly, sustainable concepts, such as an Energy Star roof, the use of recycled glass and locally purchased recycled materials. Its site incorporates an erosion and storm water management plan and landscaping that does not require irrigation. We aided architectural firm HGA, Inc. in securing LEED® certification, qualifying for 30 credits.
