For a company like RTKL Associates who prides itself on great architecture rooted in smart planning and urban design, choosing the right construction manager for its Chicago office was vital to the project's success. By choosing to work with Boldt, RTKL Associates gave us the opportunity to construct new studios that are beautiful, innovative and sustainable.
Located on the 18th and 19th floors of the Borg-Warner Building on Chicago's Michigan Avenue, RTKL Associates occupies 25,000 sq. ft. with breathtaking views of Grant Park and Lake Michigan. The tenant-improvement project in this 22-story building constructed in 1958 required extensive structural modification, all on a three-month construction schedule.
The finished space includes a two-level atrium, grand staircase, and abundant space for employees and guests. We assisted the owner in maintaining indoor air quality during construction, implementing a construction recycling program, and documenting the use of high-efficiency lighting and sustainable materials to qualify for LEED® Gold Certification for commercial interiors.
