Expansion and Renovation

Palos Heights, IL

Palos Community Hospital, the healthcare leader in the Southwest Chicago suburbs, is investing almost a half billion dollars in the health of the community through the construction of updated surgical units, intensive care units, a parking structure, a central plant and an emergency department.

The conversion to all private rooms, integrated procedure services and the Center for Short Stay Care are cornerstones of the "Palos 20/20" vision. The challenge was how to complete this multiphase hospital expansion and renovation program with little disturbance to hospital operations.

Palos Community Hospital hired Boldt as the owner's representative/program manager to act as the main agent to represent the hospital's interests in the development and execution of overall program strategy. Boldt worked collaboratively with various internal, consulting, design, regulatory and construction teams to take the project from concept to program to budget, then full implementation including all aspects required (beyond construction) to provide a fully functional facility.

At the end of this hospital program, Palos Community Hospital will have developed a state-of-the-art campus that will enable the organization to provide cutting edge medical care and sustainability to the surrounding community.
