After its incorporation in 1893, the small town of Moore slumbered comfortably for 70 years until it experienced an explosion of growth in the 1960s. Today, the city prides itself on its leading school system and high school sports, and thus needed a new high school to support its rapidly growing student population, while remaining within a carefully planned budget.
As construction manager-at-risk, Boldt was charged with delivering a new high school within a guaranteed maximum price and in phases that accommodated its budget.
Working alongside The Hodges Group, we incorporated concrete masonry and steel, a brick and stone facade, and burnished block interior walls to form the 325,000 sq. ft. building. Surrounding the school are practice fields, field houses and concession buildings.
In addition to new classrooms, a cafeteria and athletic facilities, Southmoore's 2,000 students enjoy a theater with three levels of seating and an orchestra pit, gymnasiums, an auditorium with a ticket office, and a music library.
