New Highway Repair Facility

Mauston, WI

The construction of this county repair facility is a prime example of how well Boldt performs in occupied spaces with minimal interruption and maximum efficiency.

Located on a busy site with other active county buildings, the new facility was a collaboration with Severn Engineering. The goal was to build around preplanned utility outages, scheduled to occur during non-critical times. As general contractor, we self-performed the concrete placement, masonry, casework installation, studs and drywall, steel and precast erection, and rough and finish carpentry - all while county operations continued.

About half of the 32,250 sq. ft. facility is a dedicated truck repair bay, with a 10-ton overhead crane and vehicle lift. Nine overhead doors provide access to manually or automatically wash vehicles, perform welding work or replace tires. The administrative staff has its own office, locker and break room areas.
