Hannahville Indian Community

The Island Resort and Casino Addition

Harris, MI

Because this close-knit community makes it a priority to support its members, it was important to Hannahville that construction on its resort and casino utilized Indian-owned economic enterprises and organizations. The result of this collaboration is a towering center of entertainment for guests who travel from near and far.

As construction manager, Boldt worked to address the challenges of building on bedrock, in the winter months and on a tight schedule, which required pouring two 15-ft.-deep foundations simultaneously, for a hotel tower and for a theater. The resort's steel hotel tower and the theater's 50-ft.-high precast walls used 1,050 tons of structural steel, 3,500 cubic yards of concrete and 350,000 pounds of rebar.

The tallest commercial structure in Upper Michigan, this 11-story, 150,000 sq. ft. hotel offers 200 rooms and premier suites. Guests are catered to and entertained in the 1,300-seat theater, expanded gaming area and an 18-hole golf course.
