Renovation and New Freezer Warehouse
Plover, WI
Turning a non-food-grade facility into one that exceeds US and Wisconsin departments of agriculture standards for food production is no small task, but it was precisely the kind of challenge Boldt was eager to take on.
This design/build and fast-track project included a 20,000 sq. ft. processing facility with new equipment, including a spiral freezer, fryer lines and packaging conveyor equipment. A new 9,600 sq. ft. freezer/cooler warehouse was pre-engineered with insulated metal span panels serving as the exterior, and we designed and reinforced existing structures to support additional loading. We self-performed the demolition, masonry, concrete, and drywall and metal stud work.
Boldt was responsible for all design, construction, contract administration and construction management. We improved the environment by reducing suspended solids and bio-chemical discharge levels. Boldt introduced an ammonia refrigeration system that exceeds food production standards.
