New Facility

Appleton, WI

At 142,500 sq. ft., the Fox Cities PAC has become the heart of Northeast Wisconsin's vibrant entertainment offerings and a boon to the local economy. Construction of concrete, glass and brick, with unique zinc-panel exterior sheathing, combines beauty and practicality.

Boldt served as construction manager and general contractor for the project, working with architects Zeidler Grinnell Partnership. In this dual role, Boldt coordinated 10 major subcontractors and nearly 30 smaller subcontractors, while still meeting budgetary and timeline requirements.

Even so, we were able to cut construction time by more than 30 percent, from the 36 months typical of a project this complex to slightly more than two years. In the process, we delivered a 2,100-seat, four-level facility featuring Wisconsin's largest stage, an orchestra pit with retractable spiral lift, 110-foot-high stage house, individually heated and air-conditioned seat pedestals, and a bold entry colonnade that complements existing downtown structures.
