Community Memorial Hospital

Master Plan - Phase I Addition

Cloquet, MN

Community Memorial Hospital has been an important part of the Cloquet area since it began serving the community in the 1950s. After half a century of service, the facility was in need and deserving of expansion and renovation to better serve its growing community.

As construction manager and general contractor, Boldt's project team developed a master plan that allowed new construction to seamlessly interface with existing hospital operations. Even through demolition, concrete placement, steel erection and carpentry, the hospital did not miss a beat in serving the area's health care needs, and the Phase I expansion was completed in 14 months and within 1 percent of the original contract amount.

The hospital's 65,000 sq. ft. addition is better able to serve its patients with a new emergency room and intensive care area, radiology department, procedure and outpatient rooms, a pharmacy, and activity areas for residents of its nursing home, along with enough space to accommodate the facility's needs for decades to come.
