Circulating Fluidized Bed Boiler Installation Project

Columbus, NE

As one of the world's largest processors of oilseeds, corn and wheat, ADM connects farmers' crops with the needs of the global marketplace. When it came time to expand ethanol production by adding capacity to most of its plants located throughout the Midwest, they looked to Boldt to lead the project.

As general contractor, we dedicated a team of safety and quality assurance professionals, project engineers and managers, and general foremen to this project.

Working with Shoemaker & Haaland engineers, as well as local union labor crafts people, we erected a 30,000 sq. ft. boiler building where two new circulating fluidized bed coal-fired boilers provide steam to processing plants and to a new 75-megawatt turbine.

With coal and limestone bunkers and conveyors, an underground unloading station and new equipment installed on concrete foundations, ADM is poised to turn crops into renewable products that serve the needs of a growing world.
