No. 18 and No. 19 Coater Relocation

Appleton, WI

When taking on a project that involves moving two coaters and related equipment on an 850-mile journey from Pennsylvania to Wisconsin, it's helpful to have some BoldThinking® on hand, Boldt's method of approaching the owners' needs with flexibility and imagination.

As construction manager and general contractor, we worked with architects Rouman & Associates to install new foundations for the No. 18 coater and erect a 40,270 sq. ft. pre-engineered metal building in Appleton, which included a lab, offices, locker and restroom facilities. The No. 19 coater project required thermal and utility upgrades in addition to building a separate rack storage building.

The success of this project relied heavily not only on the coordination of the coater removal and transportation, but on the overall project management. We expertly and safely managed the process for Appleton, including engineering, estimates, budgets, procurement, expediting and receiving.
