Sheeter and Winder Installation

Appleton Coated is located in the very heart of domestic paper manufacturing: the Fox Valley in Northeastern Wisconsin. Therefore, installation of a new sheeter and winder at the Combined Locks facility required the work be completed while the mill remained fully operational.

Decades of paper industry experience made Boldt a natural choice to serve as construction manager. We worked with Marathon Engineers/Architects/Planners LLC to install a sheeter adjacent to an existing and operational one, and a new winder.

We successfully met the challenges of containing dust and contaminants during demolition, as well as safely installed a 25-ton bridge crane above the new winder – all without interrupting busy operations..

As a result, Appleton Coated continues to meet the demands of today's market by producing the high-end coated papers used in fine-arts books, marketing campaigns and corporate communications.
