General Construction

Lean Construction
Key Points:
This was a very complex project and included construction challenges of natural gas, electric and data transmission lines relocation, water and sanitary sewer mains relocation, demolition of the Kellett Professional Centre and the infill of a Fox River canal before the office building could begin construction.
Boldt was part of the joint collaboration meetings with city officials, utility companies, the Department of Natural Resources, historical officials and two paper mills to resolve construction issues and meet the required state and local building requirements and permits.
Alta Resources
Seven-Story Office Building
Neenah, WI
Construction of Alta Resources' world headquarters required blending Neenah's storied past with its present needs. Building a seven-story, 180,000 sq. ft. facility on a historic waterfront site - a shipping canal that was navigated in the 1800s and still used to supply water to a local paper mill more than a century later - required collaboration with city and historical officials, the Department of Natural Resources and nearby paper mills.
As design/build and construction manager, Boldt had to find a way to keep the paper mill operational during the process. The solution was installing 6 ft. diameter pipes to pump water from nearby Little Lake Butte des Morts to the mill, and working with utility companies to relocate gas and electric lines and water and sewer mains before building began. Boldt's roles on this fast-track project also included general contracting and Lean Construction.
The largest design/build project in Boldt's history, the Alta Resources building is an aesthetic and economic boon to Neenah. Its location pays tribute to Neenah's past, while its design complements a modern business district. With its impressive two-story lobby, cafeteria, in-floor radiant heat and offices for up to 900 employees, the facility meets the current and future needs of this fast-growing outsourcing company.
