Early Childcare Center

Ada, OK

With a long history building educational facilities in Oklahoma, it’s no wonder Boldt was selected by Ada City Schools to build their new 49,000 sq. ft. Early Childhood Center, designed by Childers-Childers Architects & Associates on a 16-acre site.

Boldt worked closely with the owner to help them realize their vision for what the center could be, and it showed in the results. Key features in the facility include 28 classrooms, library, music room, computer room, administrative offices, playground area, kitchen, cafetorium (cafeteria doubles as auditorium) and gymnasium that also serves as a storm shelter.

The facility was built from the ground up with new utilities, storm drainage and concrete paving. Keeping safety in mind, approximately 95 percent of the structure’s walls are comprised of insulated concrete forms connected by eight strong, high-density plastic webs, secured with rebar and filled with concrete, making them impenetrable by tornados, hurricanes and fire.
