Boldt has spent more than half a century transforming the family business his grandfather founded in 1889 into one of the nation's largest and most highly respected construction firms. His strong leadership has fostered a culture of excellence throughout The Boldt Company.

Oscar remains active in the operations of the company today as it serves clients across the United States through numerous offices and more than 2,000 employees. Representing Boldt's fourth generation of family leadership, Tom Boldt stands as the bridge between a groundbreaking past and a rich, exciting future.

Long a visionary and committed thought leader, Tom embraced evocative philosophies such as sustainable building and Lean philosophies years before they entered the public consciousness and industry conversations.

His passion for learning and discovery served him well at Minnesota's St. Olaf College, where he earned his BA, as well as L'Universite de Paris 3 and L'Institut Catholique de Paris, both in Paris, France.

Tom remains deeply dedicated to providing Boldt customers with unparalleled creativity and exceptional value as they build to achieve their business goals. And that dedication is evident throughout Boldt's construction landscape.

Bob DeKoch - President/COO

When it comes to steady, thoughtful leadership, Bob is definitely one of our guiding forces.

President and COO, Bob combines an ability to optimize our customers' experiences on a daily basis with a broad vision for where our company is headed. He's been instrumental in making Boldt the industry game-changer we've become on behalf of our clients.

Bob holds a BA in chemistry from Lawrence University and an MBA in finance from the University of Wisconsin, and has been involved in nearly three decades of leadership and innovation experience in pulp and paper, beverage, and chemical industries before Boldt.

This diverse background has given him a deep and unique perspective into the qualities of inspired leadership, independent of environment, and helps motivate staff to continually seek ways to generate more value for customers.

An accomplished author with numerous trade, management and technical writings to his credit, Bob has also co-authored Embracing Uncertainty: The Essence of Leadership and most recently Progress Makers - Beyond the Desire to Lead.

Jim Rossmeissl - Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer

In an industry as complex as Boldt's, there's simply no substitute for experience, which is why we're thankful Jim's on our team.

In a nutshell, Jim is the marketing expert responsible for Boldt's growth. He sets the course for all of our corporate-wide expansion strategies, including oversight of the development and implementation of sales and marketing initiatives, as well as directing business development efforts for each operating unit.

Jim has an important quality that we urge all our employees to emulate, he listens extremely well. Listening well to our customers and potential customers and understanding what they need and want enables Jim to create lasting relationships.

Under Jim's leadership, growth has exploded, taking Boldt from $50 million in annual sales when he joined us in 1977, to today's $700 million in yearly sales.

Jim attended the University of Wisconsin, receiving degrees in both economics and psychology, and has held marketing positions for Fortune 500 companies, including design and construction firms.

Linda Nila - Senior Executive Vice President/CFO, Corporate

Linda Nila - Senior Executive Vice President/CFO

Linda provides Boldt with the financial knowledge and managerial leadership that comes with three decades in the construction industry.

Most recently senior vice president, treasurer and chief financial officer for a national construction firm, Linda is responsible for all aspects of financial matters pertaining to our operational strength, including budgeting, reporting, tax planning, risk management, insurance issues, bonding and banking relationships. She is responsible for our entire corporate finance department and oversees our information technology arm.

Linda earned her BS in accounting from Northern Illinois University.

Jeff Johnson - Division President, Central and Services Division

As a company leader, client advocate and recognized construction services expert, Jeff is one of Boldt's greatest assets.

Earning his BS in construction management from Montana State University, Jeff joined Boldt in 1992. Since then, he's held a number of key project leadership positions, including executive vice president of human resources and risk management, gaining hands-on project experience in virtually every Boldt market segment.

Jeff's ongoing responsibilities include leadership in corporate risk management, safety, labor relations, recruiting and employee development, claims management/legal and general HR functions.

Jim Lee - Division President, Greater Northern Division

Jim Lee - Division President, Greater Northern Division

For more than a quarter century, Jim has been providing expert solutions to Boldt customers. He currently leads efforts in our northern business unit, which includes the greater Midwest, northern Wisconsin and the eastern US.

Jim is one of Boldt’s great communicators, keeping in constant touch with business section leaders and project managers to ensure customer satisfaction. He strives to make continuous improvement an integral part of his staff’s routine, training them to look for new ways to save time and money while actually boosting the value of the projects they work on.

With a BS in Civil Engineering from Valparaiso University and a depth of experience, Jim’s market focus includes energy, health care, food, education, industrial and commercial construction projects.

Dave Kievet - Division President, Western and Southern Division

Dave Kievet - Division President, Western and Southern Division

Over the past several years, Boldt's entry into California and its surrounding markets owes much to Dave.

Dave brings more than 25 years of varied construction management and field experience to Boldt customers, with market knowledge encompassing everything from health care to heavy industrial. Perhaps even more importantly, he delivers a passion for innovation.

For the last dozen years or so, Dave has worked to develop a range of Lean concepts for construction, implementing and integrating them into every project he oversees. His goal is to increase the total efficiency of the project delivery process, ideally saving the project owner time and money while improving quality outcomes and safety.

He's led some of the largest Boldt projects to date, and is actively involved with several of the US's most far-reaching health care projects, utilizing the Integrated Lean Project Delivery® (ILPD®) method.

Dave is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, with a BS in construction administration.

Steve Ford - Group President Southern Operations

Steve Ford - Group President Southern Operations

Steve brings to the Boldt team more than 40 years of experience in just about every market sector in the construction industry. Since joining Boldt in 1988, he has estimated almost every kind of industrial, commercial, healthcare and institutional project you can think of. He’s also spearheaded numerous feasibility and project development studies for our industrial clients.

Before transitioning to Group President of Southern Operations, Steve excelled as a leader of our design and engineering group. Today, he applies his skills and knowledge to overseeing pre-construction, project management, contract administration and safety programs in the southern region. He works with all areas of his staff to successfully deliver projects that maximize value and achieve the highest level of satisfaction for our customers.

Steve holds a B.S. in Construction Engineering from Iowa State University.

Jim Kleinfeldt - Division President, Real Estate Division

Jim Kleinfeldt - Division President, Real Estate Division

As Group President of Development, Jim oversees all of Boldt’s real estate development activities. He is a licensed attorney and our in-house development expert, specializing in healthcare and higher education. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Boldt’s real estate holding company, Boldt Holdings.

In his current role, Jim is responsible for at-risk development, financial feasibility, ownership structuring and alternatives, and real estate portfolio assessment and analysis. Recently, he served as principal-in-charge for Boldt’s $83 million Park Street project for the University of Wisconsin–Madison, the $26 million Sherman Hospital Medical Office Building in Elgin, Illinois, and the $25 million Aurora Health Care Cancer Center in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Jim holds a BBA in Finance, M.S. in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics, and J. D. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Jeff Niesen - Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer

When Jeff joined Boldt’s corporate leadership team, he brought with him 30 years of experience in a wide variety of industries. His experience in healthcare, research and development, infrastructure, power and higher education is invaluable in leading some of Boldt’s most complex projects.

Jeff has been a pioneer in implementing lean techniques and teaching them to both project teams and students at UW–Madison. He has also brought this expertise to presentations on various lean topics, including the Last Planner® System and Integrated Lean Project Delivery®. Attendees of Jeff’s presentations have included organizations such as AIA, COAA, LCI, and various design firms and facility owners.

Jeff holds a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from UW–Madison and an MBA from Memphis State University, Fogelman College of Business and Economics.

Shelly’s exceptional career at Boldt is a testimony to her dedication and desire to expand her knowledge and responsibilities in the construction industry.

A graduate of the Minnesota School of Business, Shelly joined the company in 1994. As a third generation construction professional, over the course of her career, she has progressed from business and financial responsibilities into managerial positions and now her current role as Vice President of the Minnesota Operations.

Every day, Shelly’s leadership is an integral part of successfully delivering construction services, including preconstruction, project management, value engineering, scheduling, financial management, contract administration and safety. Her experience spans industries from higher education to healthcare, pulp and paper, refining, mining, government, gas and distribution, power and commercial.

Paul Reiser - Senior Executive Vice President, Performance and Innovation Resources

Since 1987, Paul has helped Boldt maximize value for our customers by encouraging integrated processes, rigorous planning, and continuous improvement. Paul is a team builder and process innovator, who helped the company begin its Lean journey in the late 1990s.

Paul is recognized as an industry pioneer in Lean and Integrated Project Delivery. He has presented internationally and authored numerous articles and papers based on his experiences with innovative project delivery processes.

In his current role, Paul leads and supports deep implementation of Lean practices and Boldt’s Integrated Lean Project Delivery® process. He has extensive experience in project management, estimating, production management, cost management, scheduling and planning, and quality. This experience allows him to create effective and innovative approaches to project delivery that align with the needs of our customers.
