Sustainable Features
Building footprint: Minimized to limit disturbance to native soils and plant specimens, and to maintain erosion control and native habitat for wildlife.

Native and adaptive plant/landscape choices selected specifically to capitalize on ambient moisture and reduce the need for additional irrigation.
Low-flow plumbing fixtures reduce water consumption by 30% over standard fixtures, exceeding mandates set by the Energy Policy Act of 1992.
Interior and exterior lighting schemes minimize trespass of light to outside of building and off of the project site, helping eliminate unwanted glare.

Heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems have been designed to be 26% more energy efficient than industry standards require.

Interior building materials contain no formaldehyde and low levels of volatile organic compounds, helping ensure healthful indoor air quality.

Solar Panels: Used for domestic water heating - the system will handle 60-75% of the annual load with an approximate 7 year payback.

Zoned and task lighting designs reduce total amounts of energy needed to light work areas and promote productivity, comfort and well-being of building occupants.
Dedicated Heat Recovery Chiller: Reclaims heat generated by medical process equipment and sends it to the heating system to be used for comfort space conditioning.
Room occupancy sensors: For space conditioning to adjust room temperatures during unoccupied periods.
