Project Description
Lakeland College engaged the team of Boldt, JJR and Campus Facilities Planning to develop its comprehensive campus master plan. Boldt’s role on the project included the site, facilities, and utilities assessment and preparing the capital program and implementation plan.

Unique Challenges
A significant portion of the master planning effort related to site infrastructure, utilities, and storm water management. As a result, any proposed building projects required a great deal of evaluation with respect to site and civil engineering required to make way for the project.

Solutions
Boldt facilitated a phasing and sequencing session with the Master Plan Task Force during which time priorities were established for each of the building projects, taking into account the “make way” projects required in advance. The resulting capital program and implementation plan reflected these priorities and the colleges fundraising capabilities.
