Project Description
BCS assembled the team of Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum and Luckett & Farley to provide a system wide master plan for the newly merged Jewish Hospital and St. Mary’s Healthcare. The master plan focused on developing a strategic system-wide vision and understanding of how each facility can support the achievement of these goals. The master plan includes an evaluation of: the downtown campus, a number of community hospital campuses, the heart and lung center, the rehab and neuroscience center, a psychiatric facility, and outpatient facilities.

The project team: facilitated a strategic visioning meeting to define the future direction of the system; evaluated existing facilities to ensure compliance with strategic goals; developed a comprehensive master plan with facility specific solutions; made recommendations; and determined capital budget and phasing.

Key Objectives
Develop a facility capital planning strategy for the overall System that will support the
strategic plan
Establish priorities, opportunities and limitations for facility and program development
Provide an comprehensive assessment of sites and facilities
Establish a road map for future capital development based on needs and priorities
Final approval of Master Plan

Solution
