Project Description
The rebuild of the No. 26 Paper Machine project was a 16-day shutdown and consisted of:
- Stock Approach System — Upgrade of primary and secondary thin stock screening to include all auxiliary pumps and piping with new approach piping.
- Press Section — Removal of existing 3rd and 4th existing press sections and installation of shoe press along with the installation of two vacuum rolls and two dryer rolls.
Also included was the removal and installation of all the wet-end drives.
- Coaters — Removal and installation of two new coater heads.
- Reel — Removal of existing reel and rereeler. Installation of new OptiReel Plus and rail spool handling system for the rereel.
- Supercalender — Removal of the existing unwinds on Supercalenders No. 71 and No. 79. Replacement with new unwind butt splicing system. Included the removal and installation of new wind-up system.
- JR100 Winder — Upgrade of the existing spool storage area.
- WinBelt Winder — Removal of the original winder and the installation of a new WinBelt Winder. Included the wire sawing demolition of 500 cu. yds. of concrete with
the replacement of 300 cu. yds. of concrete in a continuous pour.

Key Points
Boldt managed the receiving and storage of over 120 semi loads of newly purchased equipment to be utilized on the rebuild project.
